Wilderness offers .....Bird watching at the lakes, forest and mountain . Another great event is Whale watching during the months of June to November where the Southern Right whales migrate to the Southern Coastal waters to calve and nurse the young. Dolphins can be observed on a daily basis playing in the waves.
Outdoor and Adventure activities are canoeing the rivers, abseiling, bungy jump (216m), paragliding (one of the best sights in the world) and flying with a Microlight ofver this beautiful Coastline.Surfing, kajaking and kite surfing are also popular in the Wilderness waves. Other activities are mountain biking, horse riding and fishing the rivers or sea and walking the most beautiful trails of the Garden Route.
This is a Golfers Paradise surrounded by 12 excellent Golfcourses like The world famous Fancourt & Links, Simola, Pezula, Ou Baai and George Golf Club and Pinnacle Point, all in close proximity.
Game viewing in a Malaria free area offers a few Game Parks in the Area: Buffelsdrift Park near Oudtshoorn, Bottelierskop near George and the Elephant Park near Plettenberg Bay where the Big Five can be seen.
Between Wilderness and the Klein Karoo are the Mountais of the Southern Cape Region with the Swartberg Pass to Gamkaskloof and" The Hell" town. Meiringspoort is also a spectacular route.
